  • 10th Jan, 2024 - A great afternoon of doubles matches with a fun competitive edge. There was a good mixture of players including new and Wycliffe members. Tournament format required the doubles pairings to swap each round.   • 2nd Sep, 2022 - I am delighted to announce that Stroud A Team have triumphed in the Gloucestershire summer League for 2022. Playing a format of 3 singles and 2 doubles strings with 7 players, the team won 7 of 8 matches during the league and, remarkably, won every doubles match they played. Well done and congratulations to all the team members.   Ewen.  

  • 6th May, 2022 - We are pleased to announce the appointment of Terry O'Donnell as Racketball Coordinator for the club. Terry will be starting by organising a ladder for interested member to join.   • 29th Mar, 2022 - Congratulations to Junior member Fu'ad Habash who won the 2022 Cadbury Tournament on March 26th at U9 level. The first of many we hope!

  • 18th Mar, 2022 - In 1972 a group of enthusiasts started Stroud Squash Club. In 2022 the club will thus reach its 50th anniversary and we will mark this with a celebration on Sept 10th. Further details will follow in the near future but I invite you to save the date in your diaries now. Ewen.

  • 17th Nov, 2021 - The club will hold its Xmas Social on December 18th 2021. All members are invited to to come along to the club at 5pm for some social squash followed by drinks at a local hostelry and a meal at the local curry house. Stroud will have 3 Teams in the league, The A team in the Premier Division playing on Tuesday nights, the B Team Playing in Division 1 on Wed or Thursday nights and the C Team playing in Division 2 on Thursday nights. We expect the competition to start at the end of September, although final confirmation of dates and fixtures is awaited. This will be available for purchase by all members and we have selected a range of colour to suit individual tastes.   • 21st Jun, 2021 - We are pleased to announce that James Telford has agreed to be Club captain for the coming season. James will lead the first team in the Gloucestershire county leagues. We expect these to restart in September following some friendly matches in the summer.   • 11th May, 2021 - We are happy to confirm that the Government announced on Monday May 10th that the Pandemic restrictions will be relaxed a planned. Our discussions with Wycliffe College have therefore confirmed that the re-opening of the club at the school courts can go ahead as planned next Monday May 17th. We look forward to welcome all existing and new members back to play from then.

  • 18th Apr, 2021 - Following on from the recent Government and England Squash announcement, we can confirm that we are working towards a restart of Squash on May 17th 2021. This will initially be for members only and for internal competition. We are now working with the management at Wycliffe College to confirm the details of this and will publish further details to members shortly 

  • 4th Jan, 2021 - Unfortunately, due to the new lockdown imposed to control the COVID-19 Pandemic, Squash will not be able to commence as planned at Wycliffe College on January 2nd. We apologise to all members for this situation and the inconvenience which it will cause. As soon as there is information regarding changes to the restrictions which will allow squash to restart we will communicate further with the members to inform them of the arrangements for restarting play.

Having been based at the courts on Stroud Rugby Ground since inception, this moves provides an opportunity for the club to move the aging site at the Rugby Ground to play at a site with world class facilities owned and operated by the College.
